The Question that Knew no NO

Yesterday I woke up at 7am to continue studying for my A&P II class.  Nothing new, studying has been a "forced" hobby of mine.  Me and shorty hadn't seen each other cuz I needed quiet time at my aunt's house to study... Test was at 4 so I was making good timing...


But he stopped by... Allegedly, to use the bathroom... So I asked what any logical person would ask with more studying to do, the door halfway open, and the screen door locked!

Is it a number ONE or number TWO...

He kicked it for a sec as I made awkward faces... snide stares with him sitting beside me while I read about surfactant minimizing alveolar surface tension.  Think he got the hint, gave me besos (my spanish teacher would be proud) and then he bounced...

Highlight of my day: going to Fridays later that evening with my girls Alicia and Nishelle to celebrate!  The occasion?

Alicia's hubby got her some new wheels!

Nishe got a new gig!

And I would be celebrating the highly anticipated A on my exam... Sheesh, was that the best I had?? Cars, jobs and my measly grade on a test. I guess you don't need much of an excuse to have cocktails with ya girls!

So on my way to school, my Right Hand Ladun called me like:


Yo!  J!  What you doin' later... Need you to shoot this event for All Eyes On Who. Gig pays 150 for an hour!!


My eyes got big as heck!! How could I turn down an opp to make 150, I mean to help out my bestie!

Then he told me it was literally for AEOW (Doon and Femi own that sucka) and the money was coming out of his own pocket. I'm like Ooooooo then nah I'll do it for free. Why wouldn't I, I'd give Dooney a kidney, so why not an hour of free shooting!

After class and scoring a whooping 93 on my exam, my hunny calls and says "Let's go to dinner!"  Pretty random I tell you! I'm like nah, I got a shoot and going to eat with the girls.

FYI- Kyle can't hold water, so I already knew he was in the ring buying market...


Then he says, "OK let's have dinner tomorrow.  And I'm taking you to your favorite restaurant AND I'm gonna dress up."  I'm like ohhhhh boy Kyle, where's your idea of surprise?!?!  I'm like your just gonna make it that obvious, huh. Fine, whateva!

Called Nishelle and called my mama to kick Kyle's back in!  Like "this boy just down right told me he's gonna propose tomorrow"!!


Ok dag, this is getting lengthy.  Just know that you're reading the edited version of a REALLY long winded story!


Ok so I get to my shoot!  Ladun is there with his bro Femi who is setting up the video camera.  And then there were two people I really didn't know well.  They were posing and were clearly the subjects of the shoot.  I start telling Dooney about Kyle's proposal plan and his bro chimes in, you betta say NO!  I was like, I should, right, that busta!!  I took a few flicks and made sure my settings were right.


Then everyone starts talking about how the lighting in the place is no good. So Ladun tells me to go with him into an adjacent room to get some extra lights...


I'm like c'mon bro, I came to shoot, not for manual labor...


He opens the door...


Kyle was standing in the center of the room beside an all white podium.  On top... champagne, a bouquet of flowers, and a small, all white box.  Inside, the RING!


When I say I was overwhelmed with joy and surprise... WOW!


He got down on one knee... and the rest is history...


I said YES to the question that knew no NO.


I love you baby and the rest of my life is yours!  Have your way with me, I mean with it lol


Big shout out to Ladun, love u kid!  Femi, no more F bombs bro (insider) lol.  And Isaam and Lauren for making the RAM gallery the place where my baby made me the happiest girl in the world.
